Day 01: Arrive in Kolkata

Today, arrive Kolkata ‘City of Joy’. Kolkata has been the most glorious city in East India. The cultural, historical, and charming city was a major hub in the British Raj and to date is a fascinating metropolis. Upon arrival, meet and greet by our representative and escorted to your pre-booked hotel for 2 nights stay. Check-in to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 02: Day in Kolkata 

After breakfast, visit to the Belur Math, the holy headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Founded on the banks of the Hooghly River, the holy organization was founded by Swami Vivekananda, the chief disciple of Ramakrishna. Next, pay a visit to the Howrah Bridge. The icon of Kolkata, the bridge on the River Ganges is a beautiful sight. The next stop of the day is the Indian Museum (Closed on Mondays & National holidays), the oldest museum in India that displays a wide variety of exhibitions. Next, stop and visit the Mother House(closed on Thursdays). Last but not the least, pay a visit to the Victoria Memorial Hall(closed on Mondays & National Holidays). The grand monument dates back to the British Raj and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The rest of the evening is free at your leisure. You can choose to go shopping and try savory street food by your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

 Day 03 : Fly, Kolkata to Guwahati & Drive, Guwahati – Shillong (100 Kms./ 03 Hrs.) 

Today in time, transfer to airport to board flight to Guwahati. On arrival at Guwahati airport, proceed to Shillong enroute visit Umiam Lake where you can enjoy some delicious Momos with the scenic beauty of the lake. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Evening explore the Police Bazar. Police Bazar is the major market of Shillong, and a popular shopping haunt for locals and tourists alike. In addition to an array of restaurants, hotels and big brand stores, the Police Bazaar also has a flea market section which is pocket-friendly and draws the maximum number of tourists owing to its traditional handicrafts stores, exquisite Meghalaya merchandise, regional apparels, junk jewellery and the like. The colourful market is thronged by shopping enthusiasts as well as foodies. The bazaar is a blend of traditional as well as modern, the chic as well as classic. The extensive collection is why people choose it over Bara Bazaar. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Same day Excursion to Cherapunjee from Shillong

Post breakfast in the morning, hit the road to Cherrapunjee, the heaviest rainfall destination in the world. Visit Noh-ka-Likai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Don Bosco Shrine, Wah Kaba Falls, Kynrem Falls, Arwah Cave and other caves in and around Cherapunjee. Later, return back to Shillong enroute visit Elephant Falls & Shillong Peak. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 05: Same day Excursion to Mawlynong from Shillong

After breakfast proceed for day excursion to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Visit Jingmaham Living Root Bridge, Mawlynong Village and waterfalls. After that we will further take you to Dawki, about 20 kilometres south of Mawlynnong. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. Boating is also available on Umngot River. The water of Dawki is so clear that the boats floating on it, look as if they are on a crystal glass surface. After visit return to Shillong and overnight stay at the hotel. 

 

Day 06: Drive, Shillong to Kaziranga (225 Kms./ 04-05 Hrs.)

Post breakfast check out from the hotel and leave for Kaziranga. Kaziranga national Park is an amazing place to visit in Assam. People from different parts of the globe come to visit Kaziranga every year to see the one horned rhinoceros, for which Kaziranga got famous all over the world. With an area of 430 square kilometers, Kaziranga is also home to a vast number of wildlife like tiger, wild buffalo, gaur, leopard, stag, deer, hog, and wild boar along with a large number of beautiful migratory birds. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. After freshen up proceed for Jeep Safari. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 07: Drive, Kaziranga to Dirang (180 Kms./07 Hrs.) 

Early in the morning, proceed for an elephant safari at 5.30 AM to 6.30 AM in the western range of the national park. Hear the songs of the birds and the smell of the wildflowers that will make it even more mesmerizing. The main attraction of this wildlife park include One-horned Rhinoceros, tiger, wild buffalo, elephant, variety of deer, python and variety of migratory birds among others. Return for refreshment. After breakfast check out from the hotel & leave for Dirang. On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest of the day free as your own. Overnight stay at the hotel. 

 

DAY 08: Day in Dirang

After early breakfast proceed to Mandala - the birding paradise. It is situated 10,000 feet above sea level.  Here more than 300 species of birds can be spotted. You can spot breasted flowerpecker, pygmy blue flycatcher, dark sided flycatcher, white browed bush robin, rusty flanked treecreeper, fire-tailed myzornis, beautiful sibia, rufous-throated wren-babbler etc. After that visit Mandala Top. Mandala Top is a series of 108 Buddhist stupas that have been built in a circle on top of a mountain.

After lunch visit Dirang Monastery, Apple Ochard & Kiwi Farm, Dirang Dzong, a tribal region located on the banks of the Dirang river. The architecture of houses in this region is said to be over 500 years old.

Next visit the Sangti valley where Indo- China war was happened. If you’re interested in treks, local guides will be happy to take you up to a vantage point from where you can get a clear view of the eastern Himalayas. 

Afternoon free for shopping in local market. You can shop for local produce like fruits and vegetables, Yaak Churpi, Yak Cheese, and River Weed here. The local market brims with handicrafts like masks, paintings and carpets, clothes, etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 09: Drive, Dirang to Tawang (160 kms / 08 hrs)  

Post breakfast drive to Tawang, enroute you will visit Sella Pass and Sella Lake situated at an altitude of 13476 ft. Also visit Jaswant Ghar and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall. Upon arrival at Tawang and check into Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 10: Day in Tawang 

Today after breakfast visit Tawang Monestry - The Famous Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, popularly known as Tawang Monastery was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in the year 1680-81. The monastery stands on the spur of a hill, about 10,000 feet above sea level and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and gradual slope on the east. It offers a commanding and picturesque view of the Tawang-chu valley. From a distance it appears like a fort as if guarding the votaries in the wide valley below. Tawang monastery is the largest of its kind in the country and is one of the largest monasteries in Asia. Though it has the capacity for housing about seven hundred monks, the actual number of resident lamas (monks) at present is a little more than 450. This monastery is the fountain-head of the spiritual life of the people of this region. 

Then we move on to The Tawang War Memorial, a beautiful stupa build in memory of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in 1962 Sino-Indian war. Later, we will go on a short trek to Bramdungchung Ani Gomap, which is the abode of nuns and the oldest Ani Gompa in Tawang. Take home local carpet woven by local ladies, Mompa traditional mask as a token of memory from Craft Centre Emporium. In the evening enjoy light and sound show. After this return to your hotel for overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 11: Drive, Tawang to Bomdila (195 Kms / 07 hrs drive)

 

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Bomdila en-route Nag Temple. On arrival check in to the hotel. After freshen up visit the Bomdila Monastery.

Trek up to RR Hill, Bomdila’s highest point and you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Tibet and Bhutan. Bomdila is also home to beautiful apple orchards that are open for you to take a stroll in and buy apples from! Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 12: Drive, Bomdila to Guwahati (300 Kms/ 08 hrs approx)

After breakfast check out from the hotel & drive to Guwahati. On arrival check in to the hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 13: Day in Guwahati 

After freshen up proceed for visiting Kamakhya Temple - Kamakhya Devalaya, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. After that visit Umananda Island, Tirupati Balaji Temle, State Museum & kalakhetra. Afternoon you can enjoy river cruise on mighty Brambhaputra. Evening free for shopping in local market as your own. The City has four major shopping center i.e. Pan Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, Fancy Bazaar and Uzan Bazaar. You can buy tea leaves, Handicraft, Assam Silk, Singing Bowls and Assamese Traditional jewelry. Overnight stay at the hotel. 

 

Day 14: Fly, Guwahati to Kolkata

In time, transfer to airport to board flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 15: Depart Kolkata

Today transfer to Airport to board flight for onward destination.
