This full-day tour from Tel Aviv to Petra, Jordan is the perfect adventure for early risers. you'll be picked up at the staging point and head south in an advanced, super-comfortable, air-conditioned bus. 

Right before Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city, we'll swiftly cross the border into Jordan. After a 2.5-hour drive through the majestic wilderness, you'll reach Petra - the Lost Nabatean city, carved into the red cliffs 2,300 years ago.

See the mysterious Djinn Blocks which used to house Nabatean spirits, then stand in awe in front of the massive Petra Treasury. Feel like Indiana Johns as you explore the Royal Tombs, and take amazing pictures at the Petra Theater.

 

 Day 2: Free day to explore Petra

After breakfast, you’ll have the day to explore and discover Petra to your heart’s content. 

The prime attraction Is Al Dayr - The Petra Monastery. This incredible structure is located on a nearby hill, and the way there is stunning.

Then enjoy mesmerizing landmarks such as the Petra Great Temple with its columns and decorations, see the ancient Byzantine Church, visit Qasr Al Bint Temple - thought to be a palace built for the biblical Pharaoh's daughter, and check out the Mysterious Urn Tomb. 

Find handmade gifts at the local Bedouin Market, hike along the towering cliffs, and take amazing pictures of the entire site. Many visitors like to finish their day at the Petra Museum, to learn how these splendid relics shaped Nabatean culture over time.

How long is the Bus drive to Petra?
The drive to the border crossing near Eilat will take about 5 to 6 hours. The border crossing process can take about an hour, and the drive to Petra itself will take 2.5 hours. The long drives are among the reasons some visitors prefer to take short, 1-hour flights from Tel Aviv.
What does the Petra tour by Bus include?
The tour includes transportation from the departure point to the border and to Petra and back; entrance to Petra; lunch, and a guided tour by a local guide.
