Pilansberg Safari, 5 days

Day 1

Today you will arrive in Johannesburg where you will be met by the Private Safaris representative and escorted to your vehicle for your private road transfer to Pilansberg Nature Reserve to check into Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge.

Arriving at the Lodge you will be checked in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Located in the Pilanesberg National Park, on the slopes of a 2-billion-year-old volcano,

is home to Africa’s big five. Relax by the pool, head out for a late afternoon game drive

and then enjoy dinner in our wonderful restaurant. On Wednesdays and Saturdays enjoy our bush boma, under the African stars.

Kwa Maritane, or “Place of the Rock” offers unparalleled comfort, in a malaria free area,

less than two hours from Johannesburg.

Unwind at Kwa Maritane Spa to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul in the peaceful setting of the bushveld. Indulge with treatments such as Thabayadiotso, our signature treatment, or pamper yourself with a pedicure while watching the game on the plains

Day 2

Today you will start with a morning game drive and a breakfast at the Lodge.

Enjoy the rest of the day at the Lodge and relax next to the pool or a session at the Spa.

Enjoy lunch at the Lodge and then freshen up for the afternoon Game Drive in the reserve.

Dinner will be served at the Lodge.

Day 3

You can sleep in a bit today and skip the game drive and then enjoy the breakfast and a lazy day at the Lodge.

Lunch will be either enjoyed at the lodge (included) or you can enjoy lunch at the Resort, but this is not included in the rate.

Enjoy the afternoon game drive at the Lodge and enjoy either the game drive or the activities the Lodge has to offer. Lunch and dinner are served at the Lodge.

Day 4

Today you will experience our unique Hot Air Balloon Safari! As the only Hot Air Balloon operation in South Africa to launch from within a National Park, we offer a truly unique flying experience. Guests are collected at their hotel and taken through the park to rendezvous with the balloon crew.

The flight is approximately an hour’s duration and on landing, sparkling wine is served. A leisurely game drive is then taken through the park to the game lodge where breakfast is served, after which guests are returned to their lodge. Flights are early in the morning and you will need to allow for approximately 5 hours for the full experience.

Day 5

Enjoy your last game drive at the reserve and then have a breakfast before heading back to Johannesburg.

Check into the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.
